Invest in investment castings
To produce an investment cast part it is necessary to first produce an aluminium tool, which is used to produce the wax replica parts used in the process. The tooling is a one off investment, the cost dependant on the complexity of the tool, and whether or not it is produced in China for China production, or the UK for UK production.
A tool can cost anything from a few hundred pounds to several thousand, but it is a one off investment and providing the tool is maintained correctly then is should last indefinitely. DGI have literally thousands of tools but tool number 1001, dating back to 1972, is still being used today, producing good quality parts.
When you consider the many thousands of parts this tool has produced over the years the actual cost/ component is absolutely minimum.
Even if the parts change issue, it is usually possible to modify the tool at relatively low cost.
