Castings replace fabrications
Significant savings have been made by replacing welded assembly brackets with commercial grade investment castings across a whole range of applications and industries. Industry has tended to focus on improving fabrication techniques, - flame or laser cutting profiled steel blanks, CNC bending and forming, robotic welding, etc. – but there is still a large amount of labour involved.
The commercial grade investment castings offers a onepiece solution, free from welded joints, sharp edges and burrs. Weight relieving of parts can be incorporated into the design at no extra cost where it would add cost to a fabrication. For in-house production, there is an added benefit from an inventory perspective as you are buying the finished item rather than a number of plates which often have a complicated routing of cutting, de-burring, welding, dressing, post machining and plating. The commercial grade investment castings has not only shown significant cost savings, you get a better looking product to boot!
