Dean Group was approached with an architectural design requiring a significant amount of high-quality metal casting. This involved an in-depth collaboration to design, engineer, and cast nodes that would connect the cables to the panels and would be castable within the fixed installation date deadline.
Dean Group were asked to convert performance parts to a cast design. This involved improving quality, repeatability and performance whilst not adversely impacting on cost or weight, which is an important factor when working with these specific type of parts.
The customer had sourced components for this tool to remove street access grids directly from India, but they suffered from both dimensional and structural quality problems. As a result, they had finished product in excess of £50k that they couldn’t dispatch because they were waiting for this component.
BiKLOX sought assistance from Dean Group to refine and optimise their prototype design for production. Through close liaison with the designer Dean Group were able to produce high quality investment casting parts suitable for volume manufacture.

Conversion to an investment casting improved strength, quality, significantly reduced costs and the component was accepted as the industry benchmark.
