Why choose investment casting?

Monday, 9 June 2008 ยท 2 Comments

Investment casting, or Lost wax casting as it is also known, is ideal for casting "near to shape parts" in a variety of high and low temperature materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, brass, bronze and aluminum. The accuracy achievable with investment castings reduces significantly the amount of machining required thus keeping the overall part price down.Whilst the process of investment casting is quite labour intensive the savings gained from reduced on processes makes it ideal for certain applications.

It looks like you can supply most materials, but can you produce Titanium products by the Investment casting process. Please let me know as i would be interested in talking to you further

Hi anonymous

Yes, we can cast titanium by the investment casting or lost wax casting process, I have samples that I can show you. It has to be cast under controlled atmoshere and as such we source from our supply partners in China.
The investment castings that we source from here would have to be in reasonable volume and/ or reasonable size. If you would like to discuss further please contact me, Michael Fielding, detils on the web site.
